Fairtrade Fortnight in Strathkelvin and Bearsden
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the commitment of the East Dunbartonshire Fairtrade Steering Group in its preparations for Fairtrade Fortnight during these challenging market conditions; understands that Fairtrade Fortnight takes place from 22 February until 7 March 2021; praises the many local businesses and organisations that work mindfully throughout the year to ensure the continuity of the local Fairtrade Zone accolade; pays tribute to Fairtrade Flagship Employers, including the Milton of Campsie-based charity Silver Birch (Scotland) Ltd; expresses its thanks to constituents in recognising how their purchasing choices can have a significant impact on transforming communities, ensuring a fair price and enabling ethical working conditions for workers, particularly in developing countries, and wishes all involved continued success in raising awareness.
