Clydebank Woman Commended by the Scottish Women’s Convention

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Clydebank woman, Rose Sehakizinka, who has received recognition for her services to BAME people during the COVID-19 lockdown; understands that Rose has been commended by the Scottish Women’s Convention ahead of International Women’s Day on 8 March 2021; recognises the hard work of Rose, who has been working as the project co-ordinator for the Isaro Community Initiative, a Whitecrook-based organisation which promotes the integration of new Scots in West Dunbartonshire, since it was established; notes that the organisation set up a mini foodbank with culturally appropriate food to ensure people could access food they were used to eating and was delivering around 20-30 packages each week throughout the COVID-19 pandemic; recognises that Rose and the team of volunteers have also been working to improve digital connectivity in Clydebank; acknowledges the hard work and dedication of Rose and the ISARO Community Initiative, and wishes them every success for the future.
