Charities and Community Organisations Welcome FAIRER Aberdeen’s Funding

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes FAIRER Aberdeen’s funding boost to support people across the city who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic; understands that its Coronavirus Pandemic Hardship Fund aims to help those at increased risk due to the pandemic, including people living in the most deprived areas or in households on low incomes, younger people, disabled people, minority ethnic households and households with children; notes that the funding will be used to provide food, food vouchers, toiletries, household essentials and fuel top-ups to support those in financial hardship, as well as counselling sessions and activities to support mental health and wellbeing and tackle social isolation; recognises that £368,000 has been awarded, with more than 47 charities and community organisations benefiting; highlights that Donside constituency-based organisations including, the Nepalese Himalayan Association Scotland, Printfield Community Project, SANDS Aberdeen, ABERnecessities, Middlefield Community Project, Triple A’s – Autisim Awareness Association, One Seed Forward and the Northfield Community Learning Association, are set to benefit from this funding, and applauds FAIRER Aberdeen for its support in these difficult times.
