Alloa’s Historic Waggon Way
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the recognition of Alloa’s historic Waggon Way as a site of significant historical importance by the National Transport Trust; notes that this has been marked by the installation of a Red Wheel plaque; recognises that the Waggon Way is a reminder of Clackmannanshire’s industrial heritage, and notes that parts of the route, which once saw ponies pulling waggons from the collieries to the docks have now been repurposed for recreational use by cyclists and pedestrians.
