European Parliament Removes Immunity from Catalan MEPs

The motion

That the Parliament notes the decision of the European Parliament to withdraw the Parliamentary immunity of Carles Puigdemont, Antoni Comín and Clara Ponsatí; understands that Spain continues to pursue prosecutions against members of the Catalan Government and others involved with the 2017 independence referendum, and calls on the Spanish Government to respect those who are advocating for Catalonian independence, including artists, and to respect the right, enshrined in international law, of the Catalan people to determine their own future.
