St Patrick's Day
The motion
That the Parliament marks the celebration of St Patrick’s Day; notes that this is the second year where the annual St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Coatbridge have been limited due to COVID-19 restrictions; understands that in normal circumstances this is a significant annual event organised by local people and attended by thousands; appreciates that Scottish-Irish relations hold great cultural importance; recognises the significance of the event to the large Irish diaspora in Coatbridge; acknowledges the hard work of the organisers who have put in place this year’s virtual events; wishes those holding the virtual St Patrick’s Day well, and hopes that next year there will be a return to normal celebrations.
