Caritas Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the pupils who have successfully completed the Caritas award; understands that the award, undertaken by final year pupils in secondary schools, includes prayer, reflection and action, through faith witness and voluntary service in their local communities; notes that over 1,500 pupils participated in the programme this year, despite the global pandemic; recognises the significance of the award’s contribution to communities, with Caritas pupils recording nearly 500,000 hours of voluntary action since its introduction 10 years ago; congratulates those who will be awarded the Caritas medal at the end of the school year, and encourages more pupils to participate in the award.
