ThermoFisher Redundancies
The motion
That the Parliament expresses concern at reported planned redundancies at the ThermoFisher facility in Perth, which produces material for COVID-19 testing kits; notes that the facility had recently expanded significantly with 200 new jobs announced in October 2020; further notes that a similar number of redundancies are now being proposed, and recognises the sense of deep anxiety felt by the workforce, who it understands had been led to believe that these were long-term jobs.
