World Bee Day Brings Many Benefits

The motion

That the Parliament recognises World Bee Day, which is on 20 May 2021, to raise awareness of how vital bees are to life and the environment; recognises the role of the filmmaker and humanitarian, Angelina Jolie, in encouraging and teaching women skills such as beekeeping, which will benefit local communities around the world, and welcomes the work of local organisations, including the South of Scotland Beekeepers’ Association and Western Galloway Beekeepers’ Association, in helping more young people and women become involved in the hobby and the benefit it brings to their knowledge of the local environment and beyond.
