Visit of The Earl and Countess of Strathearn to Orkney

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement of Their Royal Highnesses The Earl and Countess of Strathearn’s first official joint trip to Orkney, which will include visits to the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) and The Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall; understands that the visit will be part of an extended tour of Scotland relating to Prince William’s role of Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, and welcomes news that Their Royal Highnesses will also be meeting with a variety of people across Scotland, including many working in charities and organisations in the environment, mental health, homelessness and addiction sectors.
