The Big Lunch 2021

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that The Big Lunch is to be held between 5 and 6 June 2021, to help strengthen local communities; understands that the annual event aims to bring neighbours together over lunch; notes that it is organised by Eden Project Communities, with funding provided by the National Lottery; recognises how important community spirit has been in helping individuals to cope with COVID-19 lockdown restrictions over the past year; believes that events such as The Big Lunch can help to reinforce and build upon existing community links and relationships; encourages communities across Scotland to take part in a safe manner, that complies with public health regulations, and hopes that the event will raise awareness of the importance of the support that local communities offer.
