Retirement of the Athlete, Eilidh Doyle

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the incredible achievements and contribution to Scottish and British Sport of Athlete, Eilidh Doyle, as she announces her retirement from competition; further recognises her haul of 17 major international medals, including multiple European medals for both indoor and outdoor competitions, with the cumulation of a European outdoor title in the 400 metres hurdles in 2014, Olympic bronze in 2016 in the 4x400 metres relay and three silver medals in consecutive Commonwealth Games, as well as being the British team captain at the World Championships in 2017 and Team Scotland's flag bearer for the Commonwealth Games in 2018; further recognises that Eilidh leaves the sport as the Scottish record holder in the 400 metres hurdles and indoor 400 metres, and wishes her well in her future endeavours.
