Thank You Day
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes that, on 4 July 2021, organisations and individuals across the UK are coming together to say "Thank You”; understands that the initiative organised by Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) and the Together Campaign recognises that, after the challenges of the last 15 months, there are so many people across Scotland’s communities who have been doing what they can to make a difference to people’s lives, from NHS workers and carers through to neighbours, volunteers, family and friends, and that Thank You Day is a collective chance to celebrate them; notes that this message is being promoted in many ways, such as CHSS holding a Tartan Tea Party and event to bring everyone together by signing-up, holding a tea party, wearing tartan and receiving exclusive recipes by Michelin Star Chef, Tom Kitchin; understands that Thank You Day began with a proposal from just 13 individuals, including the stroke survivor, Debbie Matthew, in Perthshire, and is now supported by celebrities, religious leaders, sports stars, councils, schools, businesses and communities across the UK, and wishes everyone involved all the very best for what promises to be a fantastic series of events.
