Prestwick Community Stalwart Calls It A Day

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the retirement of Graeme Johnstone, who has been a stalwart member of the Prestwick business community for over 20 years; understands that Mr Johnstone was involved in Prestwick securing the Great British High Street Award for Scotland in 2019, and that during his time in the town he spearheaded the organisation of the Christmas Light Up Day, secured grants to fund a dedicated website for Prestwick to showcase the town and fought to have parking times increased from 20 minutes to two hours; recognises the work put in by Mr Johnstone and others like him who are so integral to communities across South Scotland, and commends the effort they go to so Scotland's high streets are attractive places to visit, work and relax.
