The motion

That the Parliament commends James Whittaker, executive director of development at Peel Land & Property, based in Port Glasgow, for cycling around the coastline of Britain for WaterAid; notes that the 50-year-old started in St Andrews at the end of June 2021 and is aiming to cover the rest of the 5,700km before the end of July; applauds James’s Cycle Blighty 4 WaterAid challenge for raising more than £37,000 so far; understands that he says he embarked on this challenge because 785 million people in the world do not have access to clean water, and that cycling along the coast is a constant reminder of his goal; recognises that James is covering around 185km each day and will finish at his starting point in St Andrews, and wishes him all the best as he completes his epic cycling challenge for charity.
