Joanna Barrett's Cystic Fibrosis Trust Fundraising Success
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Joanna Barrett, who is from Hamilton, and her two brothers on walking 874 miles, which is equivalent to the distance from Lands' End to John o' Groats, to raise vital funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust; notes that two of Joanna’s four children have cystic fibrosis, which is a life-limiting genetic condition that can affect the lungs, digestive system and whole body, making daily activities and eating more challenging; understands that the condition affects more than 10,000 people in the UK and that the number is growing; recognises that the Cystic Fibrosis Trust aims to improve the lives of people with cystic fibrosis, and is an excellent source of information and support for individuals, families and carers affected by the condition in Scotland and across the UK, and applauds all the fundraisers who took part in the trust’s annual fundraising Wear Yellow Day on 18 June, and everyone who helped to raise awareness during Cystic Fibrosis Week, which followed the theme, We Won’t Stop, in 2021.
