2021 Bloody Scotland International Crime Writing Festival
The motion
That the Parliament notes the success of the 2021 Bloody Scotland International Crime Writing Festival, held in the City of Stirling; congratulates organisers for a varied and interesting array of events, speakers and sessions across the three days, which explored and celebrated the very best of Scottish and international writing talent; praises Bloody Scotland as a brilliant example of cross-sector collaboration, with support from a wide array of local and national stakeholders, including Stirling Council, GoForth Stirling, the University of Stirling, and many more; recognises the international appeal of the festival, attracting household celebrity attendees, such as Ian Rankin, Val McDermid and Stephen King; notes the blended model used, by mixing in-person and online events, which maximised access to the festival and allowed fans around the world to get involved, and wishes Bloody Scotland the very best of success for next year.
