Ian Tennant's 41 Years of Service as Head Ghillie at Gordon Castle
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges Ian Tennant, Head Ghillie at Gordon Castle and the Brae Water, on the River Spey, on retiring after 41 years; notes the positive impact that he had on those around him, with boundless passion, knowledge and enthusiasm for the River Spey and Gordon Castle, which has captivated many visitors, including members of the Royal Family; understands that during his 41 year period serving at Gordon Castle, nearly 60,000 salmon have been caught there, and over 240,000 rod days have been fished there; believes that he has contributed immensely to the natural environment and the local economy, and wishes him a happy retirement.
