The motion
That the Parliament recognises that 2021 marks the 60th anniversary of the launch of Grampian Television, having first launched on 30 September 1961; understands that Grampian Television served an area said to be bigger in size than the Netherlands and covered an area from Aberdeen to Stornoway and Dundee to Lerwick; acknowledges reports that, over the course of 36 years, Grampian Television shows won the network the highest ratings approval of any company in the ITV network; understands that the network not only broadcast shows in English but also in Scots Gaelic, and notes that the Aberdeen-based broadcaster amalgamated with STV in 1997.
