Poppy Scotland Light Up Red Appeal 2021

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the Poppy Scotland Light Up Red campaign 2021; notes that, during the campaign, Poppy Scotland is inviting buildings, large and small, to Light Up Red in support of the Scottish Poppy Appeal; acknowledges that, each year, Poppy Scotland’s campaign raises awareness of the Scottish Poppy Appeal; understands that, due to the massive impact COVID-19 has had on Poppy Scotland’s ability to run street collections, the 2021 campaign will need to raise more awareness than ever before; believes that the Scottish Parliament building and Bute House should also Light Up Red, to show support for Poppy Scotland and the country's veteran community, and considers that lighting up can also provide a message of hope and togetherness, which it believes everyone needs now more than ever.
