The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Connect Alloa has been chosen to benefit from an award from the Co-op Local Community Fund, following a challenging 18 months; acknowledges that the charity has been working in the town and wider area to help reduce social isolation and promote positive mental health and wellbeing for young people; considers that the group has also managed to maintain strong connections by embracing digital technology during the lockdowns before its face-to-face youth nights returned; notes that, through the co-op partnership, in which members who buy selected own-branded products give 1p of every £1 spent to good causes, Connect Alloa is hoping to fund specialised staff to run mental health and wellbeing sessions, and commends the project leader, Dave Crozier, as well as the Co-op and the charity’s volunteers, for their excellent work in championing the promotion of positive mental health and the reduction of social isolation across the Wee County.
