LEGO Build the Change Event Glasgow, 9 November 2021

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the LEGO Build the Change event, which will be held on 9 November 2021, at the University of Strathclyde Union; understands that this active and lively workshop aims to bring school children from across Glasgow together to express their hopes and dreams for the future, and to consider the causes and consequences of climate change; further understands that children, teachers and adults will be invited to use LEGO bricks and other creative materials, as well as their own imagination, to build pieces using directions from a booklet, which will also be shared with world leaders, decision makers and other attendees at COP26; understands that the workshop has been commissioned by colleges in Glasgow and is being facilitated by The Climate Fresk, an accredited Observer to the UNFCCC; believes that the workshop will provide an informative step-by-step reconstruction of the climate crisis, including helping to explain its complexity and developing an understanding of climate change, and wishes the children attending a thought-provoking and enjoyable experience.
