Community Renewal Fund Investment in Argyll and Bute
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that eight projects in Argyll and Bute are to receive funding worth a total of £1.93 million from the UK Government’s Community Renewal Fund; understands that, among the funding awards, £407,715 has been allocated to help establish the Seaweed Academy, which will become the UK’s only dedicated seaweed industry facility, and £184,793 has been allocated to Machrihanish Airbase Community Company’s Hydrogen Futures Viability Study, which will help with the completion of a detailed feasibility and design project, with a view to establishing a green hydrogen production and distribution facility; further understands that Argyll and Bute Council is to benefit from funding of £185,400 to help support two council-led projects, and that Argyll and Bute has seen the joint-highest number of individual projects supported through the Community Renewal Fund; recognises what it considers as the importance of UK Government funding for local projects that will help grow the local economy and create high-skilled, sustainable jobs, and wishes all of the projects that have benefited from this investment well for the future.
