Congratulations to Laurencekirk’s Lewis Howe

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates 12-year-old Lewis Howe, from Laurencekirk, who was invited to Downing Street to discuss his ideas on tackling school food waste with the MP, Bim Afolami; notes that Lewis was also chosen by the public to be one of 26 One Step Greener Ambassadors for the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow; understands that the Ambassadors, from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England, had the opportunity to showcase their stories, ideas and experiences at COP26 to inspire others to take action to lead greener and more sustainable lives; pays tribute to the Laurencekirk Scout Group, which provided encouragement and support to Lewis as he worked on the food waste project as part of his World Challenge Award during lockdown; commends Lewis on his creativity, innovation and stewardship of the environment, and wishes him every success as he continues to pursue his environmental interests, schooling and Scouting.
