Purple Crocus Planting in Alloa for Rotary Club's Purple for Polio Campaign

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Clackmannanshire schools and community groups have teamed up with the Rotary Club of Alloa to plant 4,000 croci in Alloa’s Wimpy Park for the Rotary’s Purple for Polio campaign to end polio around the world; understands that the purple crocus was chosen because, in developing countries, medical teams have painted the little finger nail of a child purple to identify that they have been vaccinated; believes that this planting of 4,000 croci in just one day would not have been possible without the help of Park Primary School, St Mungo’s Primary School, Lochies School, Alloa Academy and many others, and commends everyone involved for their fantastic collective work.
