The motion

That the Parliament welcomes that 21 groups in Clackmannanshire have received a share of funding from the Co-op’s Local Community Fund; understands that the Co-op has donated £27,457 to the groups, which are all making a difference to their communities; understands that, since 2016, the Local Community Fund has given more than £205,000 to the area; acknowledges that a Co-op survey earlier in 2021 found that more than three quarters (76%) of community causes surveyed expected the demand for their services to increase dramatically, especially services that champion support for mental wellbeing, as well as opportunities for young people; notes that Forth Valley Riding for the Disabled is one of the groups that benefited from the fund, and will use the money to renew its accessible toilet, in addition to the Tillicoultry, Coalsnaughton and Devonside Community Council, which plans to use the funding to help the community connect; notes that the Local Community Fund is generated by members trading across the Co-op’s businesses and supports grassroots projects across the UK, encouraging members to choose a local cause to support from a selection that are building stronger, more resilient communities, and commends the Co-op, as well as all the beneficiary groups, for their sterling work for communities.
