Remade Network
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the social enterprise, Remade Network, on being awarded a funding package of £550,000 by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, under the UK Government’s Community Renewal Fund; recognises that the Remade Network will use the funds to expand its project to build a repair economy in Glasgow, which is based on its Govanhill pilot; understands that the project will aim to generate affordable neighbourhood repair services, including the repair and re-use of surplus IT equipment; welcomes the plans to create employment opportunities and skills training at further locations in Pollok, Cranhill and Parkhead, and applauds what it sees as the network’s innovative approach to reducing waste, tackling climate change and supporting the community in Glasgow.
