Doug Cowie, 1926 to 2021
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges the sad passing of former Dundee, Greenock Morton and Scotland football player, Doug Cowie, at the age of 95; notes that Doug Cowie remains Dundee Football Club’s record appearance holder with 446 games; celebrates Doug Cowie’s honours at Dundee, including back-to-back League Cup victories in the 1951-52 and 1952-53 seasons; recognises that Doug Cowie was inducted into the Dundee Football Club Hall of Fame in 2009, and applauds Doug Cowie’s 20 caps for Scotland, including at the 1954 and 1958 World Cups.
