National Tree Week

The motion

That the Parliament recognises that the week beginning 27 November 2021 was National Tree Week; notes that this takes place annually and began in 1973 with the campaign entitled Plant a Tree in 73; further notes the huge ecological benefit that trees bring to the environment; commends the work of Future Woodlands Scotland for a recent collaborative project with Aberdeen City Council to grow over 4,000 trees in Riverview Park, and commends The Tree Council for the work it does every year to ensure that National Tree Week is marked with tree planting across the UK.
