Kathleen Dawson MBE
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Kathleen Dawson on being appointed an MBE in the 2022 Queen’s New Year's Honours; acknowledges that Kathleen has represented Scotland at the Commonwealth Games since 2014, is a British backstroke swimmer and won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the mixed 4x100 metre medley relay, in a world record time; notes that she was also the European champion at the 2020 Budapest Championships and is the holder of the European record in the 100 metre backstroke; understands that Kathleen received her award for services to swimming and women in sport, and commends her on her sterling endeavours.
