Johanna Mary Geddes OBE

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Johanna Mary Geddes, who is from Thurso, Caithness, on being appointed an OBE in The Queen’s Birthday Honours List for her services to the Boys Brigade; understands that she has been captain of the 1st Thurso Boys Brigade for 20 years, but that her connection spans more than four decades through various roles; further understands that among her achievements has been the opening of a museum to Boys Brigade founder, Sir William Smith, who was born in Thurso in 1854, which, it understands, has attracted many Boys Brigade companies from across the United Kingdom and the world, and wishes Johanna the very best.
