The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the specialist team at Glasgow’s Princess Royal Maternity hospital, which works with some of Scotland’s smallest babies, for receiving a national award for care quality; recognises that the team was awarded for “Excellence in Using Quality Improvement in Maternity, Neonatal and Paediatric Services” at the Scottish Government Quality Improvement Awards, for developing a "preterm bundle", which, it understands, includes a package of seven steps to improve the chances of a baby’s survival by up to a third; praises the multi-disciplinary team for its work in improving both short and long-term outcomes of preterm babies and for delivering the highest quality of care, and understands that the preterm bundle developed by the team at the Princess Royal Maternity has been shared widely and is now being adapted for use by other maternity and neonatal units across Scotland.
