Borders' Hockey Coach Rewarded with the British Empire Medal

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the achievement of Borderer, Mary Weir, who has been awarded with the prestigious British Empire Medal for her decades of devotion to sport in the Borders; acknowledges her passion and commitment in coaching and managing sport clubs, in particular at Kelso High School, South Hockey and Kelso Hockey Club, where she is currently the Chairwoman; recognises what it sees as her integral part in the success of hockey in the Borders, with many of her players reaching district and even national level, and acknowledges the scale of this award and congratulates her on her success.
