The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Golden Jubilee National Hospital, in Clydebank, on successfully diagnosing 2,000 patients with pioneering Pillcam Colon Capsule Endoscopy (CCE); understands that, once swallowed, the pill-like camera can take 50,000 photos, is painless and non-invasive, and that the photos are then transmitted to a waist belt for review; commends consultant colorectal surgeon, Professor Angus Watson, and his team for creating what it sees as a cutting-edge, fast and effective diagnostic procedure, and acknowledges that bowel cancer is Scotland’s third most common cancer and is treatable and curable if diagnosed early.
