The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that a successful Clackmannanshire initiative, which, it believes, empowers those living with experience of trauma, has received further funding to allow the continuation of its journey; shows its delight at the Resilience Learning Partnership (RLP) being awarded £200,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that funding will go to supporting the Alloa organisation's very own Trauma Informed Education and Recruitment (TIER) training pathway, which, it believes, empowers others to take the next step in their lives, realising their own aspirations and ambitions; further understands that this initiative is able to help people into education, later allowing them to work in vocations that they are interested in and has been considered by many as a real success since its launch in 2020; understands that RLP’s Managing Director, Shumela Ahmed, has confirmed the success of a second cohort for training, which has been running for over a month, and that the National Lottery has shown its belief in the project by funding it for a further three years; notes that the TIER initiative sits alongside other training and education projects at RLP, which, it understands, have been bringing the expertise and knowledge of people who have lived with the experience of trauma into the development of staff within the public, private and third sectors; understands that the trauma-informed programme runs for 24 weeks and is co-produced by its participants to explore and realise their own goals in life, and commends Shumela and the RLP for what it sees as their tireless work and focus on the wellbeing of all those in the community who, it understands, seek out their excellent services.
