The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that a Clackmannanshire group supporting former armed forces personnel has become the first organisation in the county to receive a financial boost from the charity, Forthgiving; understands that the group, Wee County Veterans, received a cheque for £1,000 from Forthgiving as the charity has expanded into Clackmannanshire to cover the entire region; further understands that the funding is to go towards storage costs at the Glen Transport depot in Tillicoultry, boosting a project that has seen the veterans' support group recycle unwanted furniture, which they deliver free of charge to disadvantaged veterans; understands that Forthgiving was established in January 1809 by a group of Glasgow merchants and tradesmen living in Stirlingshire to give practical and financial assistance to people in the former county boundary whose needs were greater than their own and who would otherwise have been destitute, in the days before any form of social security existed, and commends both groups on what it sees as their tireless endeavours.
