Anniversary of the North Sea Transition Deal
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the first anniversary of the North Sea Transition Deal being agreed between the UK Government and the offshore oil and gas industry; applauds the progress that it considers has been made in reducing production emissions by 11% since 2018, supporting the development of carbon capture, and setting out a hydrogen strategy for the UK; considers that the deal is key in supporting the decarbonisation of the oil and gas sector, while protecting the UK’s energy security, and hopes that what it sees as this great work can continue in the future.
