The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the Stracathro Estate project, which, it understands, is an affordable and high-quality housing development consisting of six homes in Inchbare, Angus; understands that the £1.15 million initiative was conceived by estate owner, Hugh Campbell Adamson, who recognised that there was a need for affordable housing for families with young children in the rural community; further understands that the houses, which were designed to be sympathetic to local architecture, include silver standard insulation and communal ground source heating, helping to make them energy efficient as well as affordable; understands that there was a huge amount of interest in the six properties, with 420 applications in total; commends rural land based company, Stracathro Estates Co, on what it sees as its values of protecting the environment, maintaining openness and transparency, and honouring, it believes, its social obligations to provide high-quality housing at affordable rents, and wishes the new tenants well in their new homes on Stracathro.
