Brora Bird Rescue Centre's New Educational Initiative Backed by World’s Strongest Man

The motion

That the Parliament commends Blue Highlands Bird Rescue in Brora for setting up a Flight School, which, it understands, is backed by the World’s Strongest Man, Tom Stoltman, of Invergordon; recognises that the project is running as a pilot in 2022 and will provide local young people with after-school work experience and learning opportunities; understands that Mr Stoltman paid a visit to the centre and reportedly spoke about his autism, and his belief that the educational programme would be beneficial for young people who might find parts of mainstream schooling challenging; further understands that, with a successful Flight School pilot project, the centre will be able to apply for funding for a classroom building, which, it is hoped, will provide work experience through hands-on care, and wishes success to the rescue centre for its educational initiative.
