Voluntary Action South Ayrshire Launches First Strategy for Volunteers

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the work of Voluntary Action South Ayrshire (VASA) as it launches its first-ever strategy for volunteers; understands that this strategy will allow volunteering in South Ayrshire to flourish, helping local organisations and charities to achieve the best practice in volunteering; considers that volunteering contributes greatly to the health and wellbeing of communities across South Ayrshire, which has proven so important during the pandemic where volunteers helped members of the community who were shielding; understands that this strategy will support formal and informal volunteering, which will allow voluntary organisations to create and maintain their own volunteering strategies, and wishes VASA well as it continues to support volunteers and voluntary organisations in South Ayrshire.
