Military Wives Become First All-female Team to Recreate Heroes of Telemark Mission

The motion

That the Parliament recognises a group of military wives who have become the first all-female team to recreate the iconic mission, Heroes of Telemark, which was carried out during the Second World War; notes that the team of 12 Armed Forces wives have retraced the steps of the mission, facing temperatures as low as -10C while skiing between five and 10 hours per day; further notes that their record-breaking trip took them to three of the original shelters used in the Second World War; recognises that the team conquered one of the most inhospitable environments on Earth, Norway’s Hardangervidda Plateau, and understands that, even with some serious injuries throughout the team of 12, they completed the mission together.
