David Dickens and the Work of The Fishermen's Mission

The motion

That the Parliament thanks David Dickens CBE, who has carried out the role of Chief Executive at The Fishermen's Mission for over a decade, for what it sees as his selfless dedication, support and passion for the fishing communities across Scotland, including in the Banffshire and Buchan Coast constituency; recognises the work that he led in the Mission to support Scottish fishermen and coastal communities through, it understands, a range of adverse events in recent years; further recognises what it sees as his role of being a strong voice in tackling what it considers as the worldwide issue of modern slavery in the fishing industry; notes David Dickens CBE impending retirement from The Fishermen’s Mission, and wishes him a long, happy and fulfilling retirement.
