Awards Success for Glenmorangie Distillery
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Glenmorangie Distillery for winning two awards in 2022; recognises the achievements of Ed Thom, Glenmorangie’s Distillery Manager, for receiving the Global Distillery Manager of the Year at the Icons of Whisky Global Awards 2022; understands that this accolade was received by Ed in recognition of his team’s work to sustain and improve the distillery’s beautiful Highland surroundings; further understands that these improvements include integrating Glenmorangie’s multi-million-pound anaerobic digestion plant, which purifies 98% of the Distillery’s waste water, reducing fuel use by 15%, and switching the Distillery’s natural gas supply to biogas; notes that the Icons of Whisky experts chose the limited edition Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1996 as the Best Scotch Highlands Single Malt of the Year; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of whisky distilling to both the Highland and wider economy, and wishes everyone at Glenmorangie Distillery further success in the future.
