Aberdeen Hosting Stage One of the Tour of Britain 2022

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news of stage one of the Tour of Britain 2022 to Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire; understands that Aberdeen will host the opening stage of the race, which will then progress through Aberdeenshire; further understands the importance of this event, which, it believes will bring visitors to the region and provide the opportunity to promote cycling as a healthy activity and demonstrate it as an active travel option, and hopes that the event is a great success.
