In Memory of Ron Sturrock

The motion

That the Parliament notes with great sadness the passing of Ron Sturrock, an Angus councillor, who served his ward diligently; understands that Ron grew up in Dundee and spent much of his life working in the Merchant Navy, where he rose to rank of Captain; notes that Ron was elected to serve the Montrose and District ward in 2017; further notes that he was Angus Council’s Economic Development Spokesperson before moving onto the post of Children and Learning Convener, both roles, it considers, he fulfilled with great dedication, and sends its condolences to Ron’s wife, Jean, children James and Lisa, and all those that were close to him at this difficult time.
