Lyme Disease Awareness Month 2022

The motion

That the Parliament recognises May as Lyme Disease Awareness Month 2022; notes that many people in Scotland are affected by Lyme disease, which, it understands is a severe multi-systemic illness caused by infection transmitted by the bite of a tick; understands that the aim of the month is to spread information about how to prevent tick bites, how to safely remove ticks and the importance of early treatment for those people who become unwell following a bite, and supports the vital efforts to increase wider understanding and awareness of Lyme disease.
