Wishing Eid Mubarak to All Those Celebrating in the UK and Around the World

The motion

That the Parliament wishes all those celebrating the festival of Eid in the UK and around the world a joyous Eid al-Fitr; understands that the festival follows after 30 days of Ramadan, where fasting takes place from dawn to dusk; further understands that this is an opportunity to share values of Islam, including the values of family, community and charity; believes that, with so many people around the world facing hardships, these values are more important than ever, and acknowledges what it sees as the enormous contributions that Muslims make across Scotland and the whole of the UK, which it believes enriches communities across this nation.
