Pub Raises over £1,200 for Lanarkshire Charity

The motion

That the Parliament recognises Mavrix Bar in Hamilton for helping to raise a grand total of £1,212 for St Andrew’s Hospice; understands that the Hamilton bar launched its charity drive during the Cheltenham Festival in April 2022, which it understands saw locals buy raffle tickets for a host of prizes; notes that the week was a huge success with £606 being raised, which it understands was then matched as promised by the pub’s landlord, John Mulvaney, bringing the total to £1,212, and understands that the cheque was handed over to Nadine Pender from St Andrew’s Hospice in May 2022 by the pub’s staff.
