John Swinton Appointed as Queen's Chaplain
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Rev Prof John Swinton on being appointed as Queen’s Chaplain; understands that Rev Prof John Swinton, who is originally from Cumbernauld, has for many years been a leading theologian at the University of Aberdeen in the development of disability theology and working to improve inclusion of disabled people within the life of churches, and further understands that he has also been a hospital chaplain and a community mental health chaplain.
