National Lottery Community Fund: Aberdeenshire West

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates groups in Aberdeenshire West who have recently received funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, which supports community-based projects with funding from The National Lottery; understands that Alford Valley Community Railway Ltd received a £10,000 grant from National Lottery Awards for All Scotland to help fund the renovation of the local station house as a space for community meetings, events, a café and hire for social events, that Gordon Rural Action received a £157,756 grant from Medium Grants Scotland: Improving Lives to enable it to run and expand its advice hub where people can access impartial information and practical support particularly surrounding financial hardship, that Lumsden Community Association received a £9,750 grant from National Lottery Awards for All Scotland to complete the refurbishment of its community toilets in the village, that south west Aberdeenshire Citizens Advice Bureau received a £116,495 grant from Medium Grants Scotland: Improving Lives to employ a training officer to recruit more volunteers and support them to help deliver a free, impartial and confidential advice service; commends the National Lottery Community Fund for its work to help communities thrive, and wishes the groups all the best with their continued efforts to support their local community.
